A Vote For Rob Is A Vote For Go-Go Boots

Do any of you guys remember the New Zoo Revue? I used to watch it in reruns all the time when I was little, at like six o'clock in the morning.

It featured Freddy the Frog, Henrietta Hippo, Charlie the Owl, and the show's hosts Doug and Emmy Jo. Doug very much wore glasses. Emmy Jo very much wore go-go boots.

If you ever wondered what Emmy Jo looked like naked, so did Doug. He eventually found out, then Emmy Jo went on to host their boy, Rob.

Rob is now 24, and competing in a radio contest. He could use your vote. You can click here to help him out. (He is second from the left and doesn't seem to wear glasses or go-go boots.)

The voting is over (Rob didn't win). Oh well.

We have fun learning things we don't know...

Ha, I use to have a New Zoo Revue record that I would listen to constantly. Though I sure hated Charlie The Owl!

:::big eyes::: Doug and EmmyJo made a baby????

I was on a bus route to school, one that arrived at the school tooooo early despite only living 1/2 mile away so they shoveled all of us into the auditorium and had a tv set up with that show. I hated it then. The owl was a snob.

NZR used to annoy the crap out of me, even as a kid, but I used to get a warm and fuzzy feeling out of Emmy Jo's short skirts. I was just too young to know why.

I do remember watching that show. But all I remember are Henrietta Hippo and something about a gazebo. The other characters look familiar, but I must have been high on Frosted Flakes at the time, so I don't remember.

I watched that show. It was the first show on Saturday morning. It was only marginally better than the color test pattern that was on before it.

I don't know which was worse, starting Saturday morning with "New Zoo Review," or ending it with "Kukla, Fran & Ollie." At least it wasn't as depressing as watching Davey and Goliath on Sunday morning.

Whoa! I thought I was the only one who remberd this show. Now...how about Clutch Cargo or Koko the Clown.

Anybody remember the NZR episode when animated Kimba the White Lion mauled Doug and dragged him off the stage by his throat?

I'd totally blanked it until it happened to Roy in Vegas - and I suddenly thought "OH GOD, NOT AGAIN"

I had a serious crush on Emmy Jo from New Zoo. Those legs!!! Even as a 5 year old I couldn't take my eyes off of them.
