Musical OCDOpen up your iTunes and take a look at the "Top 25 Most Played" playlist. What's the #1 song, and more importantly how many times have you relentlessly put it in your ears? (It's listed as the "playcount.") Mine happens to be... "Pot Kettle Black" by Wilco - 126 times. The comment board is now closed. Click here for The Sneeze Home Page! Comments

Spicelab – Falling I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to it, seeing as it’s been on my harddisk for close to 10 years and has gone from player to player. But it’s an 18 minutes long, ambient tune, and considering how many times I’ve had it on single repeat for an entire day or even several in a row, I’ve played this tune easily 10,000s of times. It has worn off a little as the years passed, but it only slightly. Posted by: Aristotle Pagaltzis at

However-- top 'o' the playlist is "Lemon Meringue Pie" by Jeremy Fisher-- Canadian like me so you may not know his music, but I love him too. (10 plays) After that would be "Your Body is a Wonderland" by John Mayer (9) tied with Big Sugar "I want you Now" (also Canadian). Finally, "Life after Lisa" by Bowling for Soup. Actually, at work I listen to iTunes exclusively on my "not recently played" smart playlist, so no one song has really gotten played more than any others. Older songs naturally have higher playcount, but that doesn't mean I like them more. I think of it as an iTunes fair-play system, where every song gets a fair shake at its 3 minutes of glory, never to return for at least six weeks! Unfortunately, I cannot access this playlist from home. On my home machine, which I rarely use to play music (I play through the TiVo instead), the most commonly played song is "Nicotine" by Ani DiFranco, a mere 15 times. Posted by: Michaela at

Well, I do occasionally listen to music on my computer, but it's usually from a CD anyway.....so if I were to guess I'd have to say its probably something like this: 1) Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars-David Bowie, about a quarter of a million times 2) Monster Side - Addict, probably in the vicinity of 500 times 3) Dreams in Digital - Orgy, about 400 times 4) God - Tori Amos, around 300 I kid you not on these numbers....and I'm probably guestimating on the low end, as I work 12 hour shift and sometimes repeat the same song for hours at a time.....My co-workers hate me. New Favorite - "LA Song" by Christian Kane....it gives me chills. Posted by: Serpentia at

I guess that's why they came up with the shuffle. I am envious that you have an iPod to begin with, but I find myself using audion over itunes on the comp regardless, that way my mp3's stay as mp3's. Good choice of Wilco, though I can't remember how that song goes. At least it sounds a little funny and upbeat..perhaps sarcastic too, which is a nice pill to swallow. By the By, whenever I see that "Dad's talking about stuff they want" futureshop commercial, That dad talking about how he'd actually enjoying jogging with an mp3 player reminds me of you, and this is like, before I read this post! I feel less like a faux-goth teeny bopper with sophisticated Sneeze fans on my side! My Chemical Romance - "Helena" at 210 times. I've been listening to it whenever I need to get pumped up, including almost every morning in the shower. I sing along loudly and pretend to be dramatically anguished for my music video debut.
